What?
At SKIN SCIENCE we make use of the Dermapen 4. Considered the breakthrough of the decade utilising the most advanced needle cartridge innovation to vertically pierce the skin. Dermapen 4 glides over the skin creating fine fractional channels up to 104% faster than any other needling device.
These fine fractional channels created carry up to 80% more topical nutrients deeper into the skin. In turn our body’s natural response triggers a natural process of repair. The result is an increase in collagen and elastin production, texture is improved, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, skin tightens, enlarged pores are reduced and scars/stretchmarks can be improved.
Dermapen 4 is considered the most technologically advanced microneedling device available ensuring a faster and safer treatment with optimal results.
Why?
Why choose Dermapen?Conventional rollers have needles that enter the skin at a sloped angle causing microscopic tears. Studies have found that these microscopic tears cause increased trauma and epidermal damage.
At SKIN SCIENCE we have opted away from dermarollers and solely use Dermapen 4. The needles move in and out of the skin at a 90 degree angle at a high speed, allowing minimal epidermal tearing, thereby ensuring less pain, more comfort and increased efficacy.
Dermapen 4 needles are also completely disposable thereby preventing cross-contamination.
Another great advantage is that the needle length can be set according to the skin condition being treated. This allows treatments to be customised allowing treatment of difficult to reach areas and delicate areas such as the eyelids, lips and nose.
Who?
Both males and females, of most skin types can successfully complete a course of Dermapen treatments considering they have no contraindications and are indicated to this treatment. These can be discussed in the consultation.
Treatment
To start off we recommend analysis of the specific area. This allows us to identify if you would be a suitable candidate for Skin Rejuvenation treatments. From our findings we are able to draw up the best treatment plan indicated to treat the condition.
We normally recommend a course of 6 treatments every 4 weeks for rejuvenation. For stretchmarks we recommend 10 treatments + (depending on area and age of scar).
Maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-6 months thereafter.
We always recommend a combination of products and treatments over a period of time to ensure the best possible results.
Typically results can be seen after the first treatment and lasting, more significant results will become more apparent from the third treatment onwards.
