The Skin Science Journey
With a deep-rooted passion for skincare and a love for helping others feel confident in their skin, Alex founded Skin Science in her hometown in the Free State in 2016. What began as a dream quickly flourished into a trusted name in the beauty and aesthetics industry. Over just four years, Skin Science proudly served more than 2,000 clients, expanding its offerings to include two full-time therapists, permanent makeup artists, and two medical doctors specializing in Botox, fillers, and medical slimming treatments.
In 2020, Alex married and relocated to Johannesburg, where Skin Science found a new home in the prestigious, award-winning Featherbrooke Estate. For three years, Skin Science continued to grow and build lasting client relationships in this beautiful setting.
Now, Alex is thrilled to announce the reopening of Skin Science in Somerset West in September 2025. Bringing with her years of expertise and a renewed passion for the industry, Alex is excited to offer her signature treatments and personalised care to the Helderberg community. The next chapter of Skin Science begins here — with the same commitment to excellence and a fresh new energy in Somerset West.
In 2020 / 2021 Alex furthered her studies and has incorporated Image Consulting into Skin Science’s services. Alex saw a gap within the Skin Care industry and was interested in how she could bring about another dimension to what she already does. This led her to Image and Style Consultancy. She is passionate about working with people, creating confidence from the inside out and inspiring and assisting people to be the best versions of themselves.
